What a FPA (PFA in French) are either alone or in groups (with other researchers or teachers or students).
Any body (organization) can launch have its own FPA or even possibly several PFA points in the same organization since in general a PFA has a main role of being an evangelizer and advisor in particular on a very specific Erasmus call (see ref of the call under the PFA's name).
We talk about ONE CALL REF only per PFA because that it's much simpler than being a specialist in several of the 36 or 37 available on ERASMUS 's list .
Of course if you feel capable and available to advise people who ask you for information, then you can be a specialist in several !
The people who are likely to ask you for information are not necessarily from your organization but mostly from others organization in general in your country or even outside. For example a researcher from a university in one country can very well call on a PFA (researcher colleague or group) from another country regarding, for example: "mobility in professional training" ...Make sens !π...
You understand that a PFA is a specialist for a call, there will be around thirty specialists to cover the 36-37 Erasmus calls... Make sens !π...
A PFA will necessarily be good at the application process requirements for which they are the most informed and beyond of course about all the possibilities that Erasmus can bring to all kinds of beneficiaries: student mobility internships at all levels, teacher's mobility and researchers, mobility for administrative staff... etc...Mundus master's scholarship for students... And all other possibilities for financing initiatives whether in consortium or individual organizations... For example the Jean Monnet or e-teaching finding etc... Do not lose sight of the fact that there is necessarily one of their PFA colleagues specializing in each call!!! Hence the strength of this network of super specialists on a specific call ππΎππ½ππ«΅π½
So it is obvious that PFAs will probably be asked to give some opinions or advice on ideas beyond their favorite call...such as:
- combinations of applications to obtain more funding for an initiative by sending several applications to several callsπππππ½ππΎ
- the application procedures of course for their call
- and above all, help in writing an application submission!... And in this regard we will have working sessions fairly quickly on each call so that each PFA will be GOOD AT!.
So you can ak me: " does this replace ENFPs"? in fact not at all...
ENFPs (national Erasmus Focal Points) are generalists and advise on the application process out of the 36 37 calls available. In general, they are necessarily overwhelmed and are not specialists in putting together applications data and team and networking!
PFA are great specialists in ONE call and are very capable of explaining the writing of a submission for this call among other taks, because they will be provided with examples to share, show and explain what a file on the specific call in which they are specialists should include.
A PFA is not expected to be good at how to handle administrative procedures once an application has been approved for funding. But she/he may have ideas on the matter. There are several training courses on the subject of how to complete the administrative formalities of an application that has been funded throughout its duration...
Of course the PFAs are the first to know about lots of things about Erasmus, and also Horizon's calls soon...
Of course the PFAs can also hold information sessions within the establishments with their fellow colleagues but also with students in the form of small information seminars... 'In Madagascar this has been tested for 2.5-3 years already on multiple occasions with around a hundred participants in each seminar, whether they are undergraduate or master's students or researchers or teachers... ). So it is quite simple to organize these sessions!
The PFA will probably soon have student-researcher-teacher groups around her/him, which seems quite logical that it is one or more groups on either a call or an action theme (an action theme can obviously address several calls).
An important point, the PFAs are necessarily main relays towards their organizations or those around them so that they become member(s) of consortium(s) or even leader(s)/coordinator(s). ). Of course a relay is not necessarily a PFA, it can also be one of their colleagues who work with the administrative management or professors but on the other hand a PFA is almost always a relay to the decision makers so that an establishment commits to become a member of a consortium or several or even coordinator!
